Create a beautiful and long-lasting central piece of driftwood
If you are looking for interesting and easy-to-implement ideas for a center piece, then this article can be very helpful here.
Below you can see a wonderful example of exotic succulents and Tilliandsias.
This has been achieved by this piece of wood that I found in the forest.
Today I will explain how I did it.
Beautiful decoration made of driftwood itself
- Various pieces of driftwood (you must choose those that can be fixed well on a flat surface)
- succulents (you could use either small pots or cut plants)
- Tillandsias (if you want)
- peat moss
Tools and safety gears
- Electric drill
- Chopsticks made of wood and plastic
Before you start, you should leave a lot of peat moss in a bucket of water for 5 to 10 minutes. Pour away the extra amount of water.
Position the different succulents on the driftwood without removing them from the pot.
Only after you are sure that everything is in its right place, you can start drilling.
Put the mixture for the pot or the conus pods on the bottom of each hole
Carefully remove the succulents from the pots and place them in the drilled holes
Then fill in the cavities with succulents
There will be a few empty spaces between the succulents and the earth
Carefully drop peat moss and place the fabric in the right places with a chopstick
Keep going until the plants are really firm and comfortable.
You can then drive the peat moss further down so that it is hidden.
After all this is done, you should water the whole thing until the driftwood is completely wet. A fertilizer is not necessary.
If the succulents are well secured, you will not need glue anymore
Let's conclude with the question of where and when to use such an arrangement. It fits in all kind of decorative gardens inside and can also be used at various festivals.
